Heading: Department of State WebMove Application Development and Implementation
WebMove is an application under spiral development by SSB, and is currently in use by the Department of State Office of Logistics Management (A/LM). WebMove is a web-based tool that allows a Department of State user to initiate a move request via the Department's intranet. WebMove helps reduce the incidence of problems associated with a move by introducing a one-stop resource for starting the move process. The project is a rapid development effort currently underway by SSB. It is working to consolidate numerous division systems to share that information through the WebMove system. The application will work as a broker for information, sending it to the appropriate divisions as required, a task currently handled manually by each individual user and the support personnel in each division. Additionally, WebMove comes with a web-enabled interface that allows users to quickly and easily submit their move information and initiate the next step in the move process.
