July 10, 1998 - SSB Establishes Internet Training for Healthcare Professionals!

SSB and its MedWay Division announce the creation of an Internet-based training service called MedWay Interactive Educational Services. The MedWay service provides healthcare Continuing Education (CE) for nurses and respiratory therapists. The MedWay service is at the forefront of a web training concept that is currently experiencing a global embrace. You may find the service by pointing your browser to the following site: http://www.ssbinc.com/medway. The site is considered "state-of-the-art" because it combines the Internet and computer-based training courseware to provide convenient 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, course availability. The functions include global, secure database access; on-line posttest; immediate test results and feedback; links to on-line reference material; secure credit card processing; personal account status access; and a calendar of healthcare events.

Approved Provider. SSB is a nationally-approved provider of healthcare continuing education. MedWay courses currently focus on Nurses and Respiratory Therapists and are developed to accommodate basic to advanced experience levels. SSB plans to grow MedWay to include physician assistant, EMT/Paramedic, and physician-related curricula.

Mandate Solution. SSB's web training is an extremely affordable 'cutting edge' breakthrough service. MedWay offers free mandatory inservice courseware to fulfill the Joint Commission of Accrediting Hospital Organization (JCAHO) requirements. MedWay offers an easy and inexpensive solution to this recurring dilemma.

Security and Speed. Web security is a concern for any organization doing business on the Internet. SSB employs the most secure socket layer available, resulting in safer processing than that of ordering from a catalog over the phone. Even low bandwidth problems, inherent to many businesses and home PC users today, are not an issue. All courses are designed for quick access, regardless of modem speeds. This design supports populations ranging from businesses using high-end access lines to home users serviced by America Online, CompuServe, Prodigy, and local Internet Service Providers. As standard bandwidth increases across the US, so will the level of multimedia content found in MedWay courseware.

Contact. While web-based training may be found elsewhere, MedWay’s combination of quality assurance, information systems, and unmatched overall service has resulted in the most comprehensive continuing education web site available today.
