August 1, 2004 - SSB Provides Career Assistance with New Training Site for Reentry Programs!

SSB, the pioneer and leader in Internet training for specialized markets, reaches yet another market with the newly published CapsAdvisor.com website. CAPS (Career Assistance and Planning System) was designed specifically for individuals entering the job market for the first time or regaining employment after having been unemployed for some time.

CAPS is a comprehensive Internet-based system with course offerings focused on the essential skills and knowledge an individual needs when entering the job market. It allows them to effectively plan, get, and keep meaningful and rewarding employment. Additionally, it provides tools for administrators to monitor and guide student participation and progress.

The CAPS Learning Management System database is designed to support multiple tiers of management so records can be viewed and reports generated. Permissions are granted for selected staff at each management level to optimize efficiency and enable real-time awareness of student progress. Functions available include: Administrative reports, Student Enrollment, Student Records, and System Utilities.

The CAPS program consists of nearly a hundred courses and a comprehensive integrated learning management system. Courseware is presented in an interactive, user-friendly format complete with graphics, performance objectives, exercises, and posttest to evaluate the effectiveness of the learning. Immediate test results reinforce the learners' accomplishments. Certificates of completion are generated after the successful passing of the posttest, and can be printed for the student's record. Courses are accessible 24/7 from any computer with Internet access. Students may access the courses as often as they like as a refresher.

An interactive resource library accompanies each course to provide students with supplemental information. The library logically groups numerous Federal, State, and Local data sources for easy student access. These sources expand upon the course content and support the exercises offered within the course content.
