Q. How do I get started using MedWay?

Q. Does it cost anything to register and how do I register?
A. Registration is free. You can register in two places. On the homepage click on the New Users link or once you have selected your field there is a link for New Users Click to Register.
Q. I can't remember my userid and password. What can I do?
A. Your userid is your first initial of your name followed by your middle initial (if used when registering) and your last name (with no spaces in between). Be sure to use all lowercase letters. Your password is initially set to the last 5 digits of your social security number. If you have changed your password and entered your email address when registering then, please click here to have it sent to you. If you still need help with your password, you can call us at 1-800-301-5262 or email us at medway@ssbinc.com.
Q. Is it safe to use my credit card online?
A. Yes. We have built in security, called the secure sockets layer, to protect our clients. All credit card information is encrypted (scrambled) when entered and de-scrambled when it arrives, so we are the only receivers of the information. For more information, see our Privacy Policy.
Q. What if I don't want to pay by credit card online?
A. You may call in the information or pay by money order. See the instructions under the Payment Options for more information.
Q. What if I ordered several courses, but I don't want to take them all at once?
A. Once you have purchased a course(s), you have access to that course(s) and test(s) for the current calendar year.
Q. Can I print out the course/test for reading offline?
A. Yes. Just click the print button in your browser while viewing either the course or test and you will be able to print the course material out.
Q. Can I do the courses by mail?
A. Yes. Call us at 1-800-301-5262 and we will send you information regarding course selection and payment options. You can complete the courses at home and send in the posttest. When you receive a passing score, we will send you the certificate of completion. Allow 1-2 weeks for delivery of the certificate. Note: There is an additional charge of $5.00 per course fee added to handle processing, shipping and handling.
Q. Through whom are the courses accredited?
A. All of our courses are approved for nurses by the state of Florida, provider number NCE 3236 and by the state of California, provider number CEP 11921. Our respiratory courses are approved by the AARC as category I contact hours for respiratory care practitioners. Provider numbers are found in the course list.
Q. Does my state accept online contact hours? Can I do all of them online?
A. Each state differs in CE requirements and the allowable online amount of hours. Please check with your state board for more information. Contact information for your state is provided on the state board links on left hand side of this page. Click on Nursing State Boards or Respiratory State Boards, your state and the contact information will be shown.
Q. Can I take the same course two years in a row?
A. No. Since many states do not accept contact hours for the same course two years in a row, our system only allows you to take the course after two years and 1 month.
Q. What if I get logged off or I have to leave the computer in the middle of a test?
A. If you lose your internet connection during a test or must stop during the test, you will need to log back into the course and begin the posttest again. Answers are not saved until you click the submit button at the end of the test. Once you have registered and paid for a course, you have access to that course and test for one year.
Q. Can I retake the test if I don't pass on the first try?
A. Yes. You may retake the test as often as necessary to receive a passing score at no added cost.
Q. How do I get my certificate and how long does it take?
A. You may generate your own certificate online to be printed at your location, or we can send you a certificate through the mail. You will find information on generating your certificate under Certificate Information.
Q. What time zone is used when posting the test results?
A. MedWay's server uses Eastern Standard Time, therefore all test scores are recorded at that time. If you are on Pacific time and take your test at midnight on December 31, it will be recorded as January 1 at 2am.
Q. What is the return policy?
A. If for any reason you are unsatisfied with the course(s) you have purchased, call us, or email your request to MedWay within 30 days of purchase. You must request a refund prior to taking the test for credit; no refund will be issued after the test has been completed. Please include your full name, userid, and method of payment with your request.
Q. How do I see a list of courses I've taken with MedWay in the past?
A. On the homepage log in using your userid and password. You will see a list of courses completed in the past 2 years or click the link below to see all completed MedWay courses. Can't remember your userid and password…see question 3 above for a quick reference.
Q. Do you offer group rates?
A. Yes. We offer discounted rates to groups of ten or more. Facilities can have access to our mandatory inservice modules and customized courses for their employees.
