SSB is looking for software developers with experience in the development of GIS solutions using object oriented design and web technologies to support development and integration of GIS capabilities with various applications. The development environment is primarily a Microsoft Windows .NET framework using C# and various geographical viewers including Google Earth. The developers will work closely with the client to design functionality that will display data that meets the requirements of the target user, have a logical geographical navigation capabilities, and address all the required functionality. The ideal candidate will be familiar with GIS technologies, Google Earth, the .Net Framework and a variety of coding languages such as C#, HTML, CSS, AJAX, etc. The team will work at the Pentagon, but be required to support meetings on-site in Crystal City.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Maintain, develop, modify and secure GIS software code and scripts in a Visual Studio and Google Earth environment.
- Review/examine, evaluate and reverse engineer existing application to identify potential integration points, upgrades and replacement implementations for GIS implementations.
- Work closely with project manager to define and prioritize requirements.
- Work with users and analysts to define and document new requirements and business rules, and conduct life cycle and cost analysis for the implementation.

| Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience |
| Experience with front end Javascript mapping API (Google Maps, OpenLayers etc.)

| Experience with geospatial data formats such as shapefiles, KML as well as Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) standards and protocols (WMS, WFS, SLD, etc.) |
|
Working knowledge of various web development languages such as VB.NET, ASP.NET, Cold Fusion, Java, XML, scripting languages, etc. |
|
Interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written), presentation skills, analytical and problem-solving abilities. |

Understanding of life-cycle development methodology.
